About Me – Nora King

I am Nora King, and I believe that some stories simply find their way to us.

I write about people, relationships, emotions, choices, and the unspoken things we often carry within ourselves. I am drawn to stories that have their edges—sometimes gentle, sometimes sharp—but always real enough for us to recognize a part of ourselves in them.

The female experience holds a special place in my writing. I am interested in the woman behind the role life has assigned to her. The woman who loves, doubts, makes mistakes, starts over, searches for herself, and learns to set her own boundaries. I believe that women’s writing is not merely a literary concept. It is a space of freedom—the possibility for a woman to tell her story in her own voice.

My literary journey encompasses a number of different titles and forms. The novel The Tenant  is part of that journey, as is Noblesse Oblige, a book available to international audience on Amazon.

My latest book, Sharp Edges – Games for Grown-Ups, brings a new story and a new perspective on relationships, boundaries, and the games adults play—sometimes consciously, and sometimes without realizing how far they can go.

I also present my books and literary work through my pages, Moj oblak knjiga (My Books Cloud) and Nora King Books, which I see as extensions of my creative space. They are not simply places where my books can be found. They are places where I can meet readers, ideas, and stories.

The podcast platform  Smitten in Written is a space where I discuss topics related to writing process, character development, dilemmas and blockages a writer works on until he reaches the last page.

The podcast allows me to keep literature from existing only on paper. I love conversation, the exchange of opinions, and that special energy that emerges when a story is shared with others. Because a book may be created in the solitude of an author, but its real life begins when it reaches the reader.

Writing, for me, has never been simply about creating a story.

It is an exploration of people.

An exploration of relationships.

An exploration of my own boundaries.

And an attempt to capture in words the things that are sometimes difficult to say out loud.

I do not want my stories to tell readers what they should think or feel. I want to open a door for them. What comes next is theirs.

Perhaps they will find themselves in a sentence. Perhaps they will recognize someone they love. Perhaps they will agree with something, while disagreeing with something else. And all of that is part of reading.

Because I believe that a good book does not end with the final page.

It continues to live within us.

That is why I write.

To leave a trace.

To open a question.

To tell a story.

And perhaps, one day, to give someone the courage to write their own.
